Thinking About Pampered Chef Stoneware? Here’s What You Should Know

Thinking About Pampered Chef Stoneware? Here’s What You Should Know

If you’ve spent any time around Pampered Chef, you’ve probably heard people rave about Stoneware. In fact, some of my customers are still using the same Stoneware they purchased decades ago!

I remember when I first started with Pampered Chef nearly 30 years ago. Stoneware was one of the products that caught my attention because people didn’t just like it—they absolutely loved it. After using it myself, I quickly understood why.

Whether you’re new to Stoneware or you’ve had a piece sitting in your cabinet that you’re not quite sure how to use, I thought I’d answer some of the most common questions I hear from customers.

What Makes Pampered Chef Stoneware Different?

One of the biggest benefits of Stoneware is how evenly it bakes.

Unlike some metal pans that can create hot spots, Stoneware helps distribute heat more evenly. That means better results whether you’re baking cookies, roasting vegetables, making biscuits, or cooking a homemade pizza.

Many people also love the way Stoneware helps create crispy crusts and beautifully browned foods without overcooking.

Why Is My Stoneware Turning Dark?

This might be the question I hear most often!

If your Stoneware has started turning brown, gray, or even black in some areas, don’t worry. You haven’t ruined it.

That dark color is called seasoning, and it’s actually a good thing.

Over time, oils from the foods you cook build up naturally on the surface. As your Stoneware becomes seasoned, it often performs even better and develops more natural nonstick properties.

Think of it like a well-loved cast iron skillet—the more you use it, the better it gets.

Do I Need to Season My Stoneware?

Many people assume they need to oil or season Stoneware before using it.

The good news is that your Stoneware develops seasoning naturally through regular use. Simply cook with it and let time do its thing.

The more you use it, the more you’ll appreciate how beautifully it performs.

Do Things Cook Faster on Stoneware?

Typically your foods will bake in the same amount of time.  Your first batch of cookies might take a little longer since it takes time for the Stone to heat up, but the best trick for that is to pre-heat your stone so the first batch of cookies is done in your standard 10-12 minutes.

Another Key Tip: Bake on the lower rack of your oven for best results.   If you’re using 2 Stones at once simply rotate the position ½ way through bake time.

The good news is that your Stoneware develops seasoning naturally through regular use. Simply cook with it and let time do its thing.

The more you use it, the more you’ll appreciate how beautifully it performs.

Does Food Stick?

When Stoneware is brand new, some foods may stick a little more than they will later. If you’re baking something low in fat, such as a pizza crust, brush a bit of oil on your stone.  NEVER use nonstick sprays on your Stoneware which can build up and become difficult to clean.

As the seasoning develops, many customers notice that foods release more easily and cleanup becomes even simpler.

That’s one of the reasons seasoned Stoneware becomes such a favorite in the kitchen.

What Can I Make Besides Pizza?

Let’s clear up one common misconception: Stoneware is not just for pizza!

Some of my favorite foods to make on Stoneware include:

  • Roasted vegetables
  • Homemade cookies
  • Crescent rolls
  • Biscuits
  • Chicken breasts
  • Sheet pan meals
  • Frozen convenience foods
  • Garlic bread
  • Appetizers

Once people start using Stoneware regularly, they often find themselves reaching for it several times a week.

How Do I Clean It?

This is another question that comes up frequently.

The beauty of Stoneware is that it doesn’t require complicated care. In most cases, warm water and a scraper are all you need. I like using a kitchen brush on mine.  If your Stoneware was made after September 2020 you can use soap on it if you want to, but it’s not necessary. A clean stone should not feel greasy or have food debris on it.

And remember—those darker areas that develop over time aren’t stains. They’re seasoning.

Your Stoneware isn’t supposed to stay looking brand new forever. It’s meant to be used and enjoyed.

Is Stoneware Worth It?

For me, the answer is easy: absolutely.

When I think about the products that have stood the test of time in my kitchen, Stoneware is at the top of the list. It helps create great results, it’s incredibly versatile, and it lasts for years.

In fact, one of my favorite things about Pampered Chef is hearing customers tell me they’re still using Stoneware they purchased 10, 20, or even 30 years ago.

That’s pretty impressive in a world where so many kitchen products come and go.

New to Stoneware? Which One Should You Start With?

The right answer depends on your baking style.   Whatever piece/size of bakeware you reach for most often is the one that you’ll enjoy most.

I like to recommend a Pizza Stone, Large Stone Bar Pan and Deep Covered Baker as basics. I have an extensive document of recipes for both microwave and oven for the Deep Covered Baker I can send you for free.  Just ask for it..

Final Thoughts

If you’ve been curious about Stoneware, my advice is simple: use it often.

Don’t save it for special occasions. Roast vegetables on it. Bake cookies on it. Try a sheet pan dinner on the Large Stone Bar Pan. Warm up garlic bread. Make pizza night a little easier.

The more you use your Stoneware, the more you’ll understand why so many Pampered Chef customers consider it one of their all-time favorite products.
